Hello all I haven’t posted for a while and that was a good thing I guess. I have had a hysterectomy 2 and 1/2 years ago , I’ve kept my ovaries and I’m 53 years of age. Whilst at work , I work as a PCSO , I was on foot patrol and wearing a heavy stab vest and walk for some considerable time and covered on average 3.5 mile On this particular patrol.
I suffer with urgency and frequency that’s a given .
Today seemed different I was walking when I suddenly felt very fatigued my back was in agony and I felt a sudden over whelming urge to urinate , I mean I need to go now . I was at this point probably less than a mile from my station. I knew I wasn’t going to make it back to base. I honestly thought I was going to wet myself . I had to sit on a random garden wall to press on my vagina to stop me urinating. Something didn’t feel right . Anyway I had to knock on a house door and ask to use their toilet, the people were very kind . I then managed to get back to my station. Where I was in a state of shock I felt something wasn’t right with my vagina and pelvic region.
The next day I went to see the GP. She confirmed my worse fears I had suffered a considerable prolapse of my front & back wall of my vagina. She’s referred me back to the woman’s hospital obviously there’s a wait.
Mean time I’m off any strenuous activity and heavy lifting. Well I’ve been grounded at work and am working offices based admin ( boring ) I fear for my mental health.
The Gp prescribed eastrogen cream ? Unsure why? ...
I have had repairs in the past after a TVT and when I had hysterectomy .
Has anyone else had similar ? what’s the prognosis ? Am I ever going to be able to manage front line policing again ? I fear I am destroying my body . 😩😭 oh and did I mention I have what feels like constant period pain, and twinges like twisting in my left lower pelvic region .
Hope there’s some light at the end of this tunnel.
