I have been diagnosed with pubic synthesis alongside endo, currently getting steroid injections every 3 or so months and waiting to see physio. Recently my groin pain and leg pain has gotten so bad to the point that i struggle to walk and I’m in agony when I do walk. It’s horrendous!! Does anyone know how this can be managed??

I too suffered with pubic synthesis following a urethral operation where my legs and groin area were stretched too far apart in the stirrups whilst the surgeon was operating. It’s now 18 months on and I am almost ‘cured’ thanks to physio exercises and Aqua Fit classes. A year ago I couldn’t even swim as I couldn’t open my legs more than a foot apart and now it’s a joy to get in that pool.

You will get over this but it takes time and LOTS of physio. I wish you well and fully understand what you’re going through.

Hi tinker bell. I parted my pubic synthesis during a very bad birth. I had years of physio and wore a belt for along time which eased the pain but restricted movement. I was later diagnosed with hyper mobility Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. With time and exercise it can ease, however I’m still taking tramadol 20 years after the injury but the intense pain has considerably reduced. The best advice that I can give is listen to your body. Walk carefully, avoid steps and rest when you need too. I would ask physiotherapist for a EDS score to see if the cause is hyper mobility. Get a pelvic belt too as it really does help. It did improve from the intense nerve throbbing and feeling like you have just been kicked by a horse pain. And also try sitting on a memory foam cushion as it eases the pressure. Good luck and rember to rest often.
