Attached to Obturators

Hi, I had an Ethicon TVT put in, in 2010. It migrated inside my bladder and it took several surgeries to remove it from my bladder. I finally got hooked up with the right urologist and she took the remaining mesh out... except the straps, or handles (not sure of the correct term) mine were attached through my obturators (holes on hips) I’ve had bone pain in my hips since it was put in. I assumed for the longest time it was arthritis. (I ride horses) but my urologist informed me after the last surgery, about how it was put in. It was like a light bulb had been turned on! This pain was from the TVT... I’m scheduled to see another surgeon to have these “straps” removed, (if I’m a good candidate). Can these straps cause permanent damage to my bones?

Hi Sorry you have had so many operations and still not feeling well Have a look at Ethicon TVT on youtube and google whether these straps can cause pain etc

Its always a good idea to take someone with you when you see a surgeon and ask him to explain what he will be doing Also when you sign the Consent Form write on it what operation and who you want to do it before you sign

Hope this helps
