Just read the blog. Great post. When my pelvic pain started I was also diagnosed with hip labral tear and FAI Cam impingement (same as the blog). I had surgery last summer, unfortunately things got worse. I don’t know why but maybe there were multiple issues. Without a doubt it’s definitely something to look into, the issues is getting doctors to trust you and order the damn X-Rays and MRI. If they would just do imaging from the start it would save so many people years of suffering. thank you for the post!!!
Are you in the uk? Is it something you can request or would you need to pay for it? I’d definitely get it check ASAP and maybe there will be an answer to your problems. I hope that’s the case and things can start getting better for you.
I think I just posted to you and now see you’ve already looked into labral tears. I think my continued groin and genital pain is related to muscular overcompensation from walking around for a year and a half with a labral tear. Join the Facebook group Hip Labral Tears. It is SO informative!
I don’t think I have the hip thing myself or at least have never thought to ask a dr about it, although I do have hypermobile joints so my hips (mainly my right) along with a lot of my joints knock, catch, click, grind, pop and ache so I wonder if there is something in that causing my issues. I did have an X-ray last week that showed a curved spine, neck and tilted pelvis so again I’m wondering just how much skeletal problems can effect this.
I think you would need an MRI to diagnose it, then physio to strengthen the muscles around the hip as the tear will not heal itself. If that doesn’t work the the only option is surgery.
As you are in the uk although MRIs are free I found you have to beg for any kind of treatment. Physio is often not too expensive outside the nhs at gyms and sport centres.
I found that blog really interesting. I hope it can lead to some answers to you and others. X
