I have good news for those who suffer from pelvic pain. I have been seeing a special physical therapist for my pelvic pain and the pain has decreased greatly by doing the therapy. I have high tone pelvic dysfunction and I hope that others can see a pelvic therapy specialist. I wish everyone the best and hope this small bit of information can help others. Hang in there ...big hugs

High ton pelvic dysfunction

Hi!
Thanks for ur post. Could you please let me know what therapist is doing with you, how often and how long been going? Thank you!
Sure anything I can do to help. I see a Pelvic Therapy Specialist that was recommended by my gynocologist. She is very patient, professional, and very kind. I believe I have seen her about 7 to 8 times. I have come to understand that each person is different, but first she suggested I get a tens unit to use in the pelvic and back area, and that really did help me. Now I use exercises of learning how to squeeze and relax basically your muscles that surround the pelvic area. Kind of like you holding in your urine and then releasing those muscles. At first I did those type of exercises laying down and then when I had better control I would sit and squeeze for 10 seconds and then relax for ten seconds and I would do this ten times twice a day. My pelvic floor specialist would place electrodes to make sure I am doing the exercises correctly. And she taught me the correcr way. Soon I will do the same exercises standing because it's a little different then laying or sitting. I don't know what she would specifically do for you but where ever you live if you can find someone that specializes in pelvic floor pain, I would say it is worth it. I hope this helped and if you have any other questions please let me know. I know how uncomfortable pelvic pain can be but seeing a physical therapist that deals with this kind of pain can be very beneficial. I hope this has been some help to you and I wish you the best. Hugs
Your very welcome.
I've had amazing results from PT too! My life is much more liveable with pain with the great tools I learned from PT, and the new found knowledge of pelvic floor muscles
How would you describe the associated pain please?
Early in my treatments - eight years ago – I saw a woman’s PT and it really didn’t do a whole lot of good. Now I’m getting injections into levator ani muscles and that helps about 50%
