Severe Pain, simply from getting Aroused!

I can't believe I am reading this. I can feel your pain. Mine has nothing to do with sciatica. Mine is simply SEVERE pain prior to sex, even thinking about it, as I am starting to get aroused. I mean horrible cramping pain. It feels like someone is jack hammering my insides. I have talked to one of the best gynecologists in my County. She never heard of this. I have had 3 endoscopy's and 4 colonoscopy's in the past 6 ears for other things and nothing has shown up. I have had ultra sounds, CT scans, etc. NOTHING! I feel like I am going to be alone the rest of my life, as I am divorced now and feel I can't date because of this.

Sorry that you are going through this. It's difficult to be certain, but it sounds as though this might be to do with the pudendal nerve. The pain might be linked to your pelvic muscles contracting when you are aroused. I would suggest asking for a referral to a pelvic pain specialist or finding a physiotherapist who specialises in pelvic pain. Good luck.

So sorry I've been there before yes I agree pudendal neuralgia can most certainly contribute to this a pelvic floor specialist wouldn't be your best or where are you located I might be able to make some suggestions.

Hello Goofygal, I agree that it sounds like the start of pudendal nerve problems. My problems started with arousal pain, it was a sort of half pain, half pleasure sensation and a kicked-in-the-groin feeling when I thought about sex, then became constant arousal and irritation of the nerves so that I could achieve orgasm just by squeezing my pelvic floor (which sounds fab but actually wasn't funny and the dragging aching pain that followed was horrible) - then it gradually developed into the state of almost constant pain I'm in now, so I'd really advise you get help as soon as possible and ask room be referred to a neurologist. I was referred to a pain management centre but the treatment is very conservative and limited to nerve blocks which might have been more help if they'd been given earlier in my journey before I developed what appears to be central nervous system wind-up as a result of taking so many years to finally get referred to them. So my advise would be to act sooner rather than later as it's much more successfully treatable if you catch it before the constant pain messes up the way your central nervous system works.

Best wishes to you.
