Ganglion dorsal root spinal stimulation

Have just had a trial spinal stimulator for an irritated/trapped genitofemoral

Nerve.

Pleased to say it has given me 80% reduction in pain! I just hope the permanent battery implant works as well. Which hopefully will be done soon after the new year.

Will update when implant is done.

What brand of spinal stimulator are they using for your pain? Does it help with rectal pain? That seems hard to deal with, with most stimulators.

Sorry so long in replying. I've had the permanent battery implanted. It is an Axium stimulator.

I don't know wether it would help rectal pain. If it is caused by nerve pain it should help.

I am so glad I trialled it. It has given me at least 50% reduction in pain and more if I take things easy.

Hope this helps.

I had the Doral Ganglion Root Stimulated a week ago. So far no changes. Since I've had the pain for 13 years the Dr said it will take time for my nerves to get adjusted to the stimulator. Presently I still have rectal and vaginal pain and burning, and now on top of it I have the discomfort from the surgery. My Dr said I need to be patient and maybe have a few adjustments. Curious your thought.

So happy for you!! May I ask where you had the trial done? (And/or doctor/facility) I had one 10 years ago and they were unable to get the electric lead line down far enough to help with my rectal pain from a motorcycle accident I had which shattered a vertebra and severely bruised my spinal cord which has caused nerve damage pain in my rectum. I am very interested in finding another doctor who is willing to do another trial since it has been so long. Any info you can give me would be so appreciated! Best of luck with your implant and continued reduction in pain! 80% is awesome!

Again, sorry for not replying sooner. I had my DRG stimulator fitted in Sheffield uk. Through the pain management team. I had the permanent battery implant in January. I had an MRI scan first to make sure there was enough space for the wires.

Hope this helps.
