I have to same problem. However the extreme pain has not really lessened since this flare started almost 6 months ago :(. I take Cymbalta now for the nerve pain and Ativan for the frequency and spasms. I hope this helps. KJB

Hi Taysamhan3,

Thanks for your reply but as I was addicted to benzos after taking prescription meds for 12 years I would never touch another Benzo,I have been in withdraw for over 5 years and still suffering, please take care with these meds.

Best regards Jacko.

Hi, that is good to know about your addiction and withdrawals issues. As I have been on Percocet for over three years as well as Lyrica. And when I don't take the Percocet I get shaky and it's only been three years . I have actually been thinking about weaning off these. But then what do you do for the pain? So as far as your frequency I too have that and despite the meds that I am taking neither of those helps with the frequency and urgency. My only suggestions for frequency is to make sure that you are on a very bland diet and eat foods and drinks that do not irritate the bladder lining. You can go to the interstitial cystitis network site and they have a link or section all about the IC diet- I see stands for interstitial cystitis. Have you had a urologist look at your bladder? My bladder has ulcers on it and you may have some ulcers or the like on your bladder which is giving you such frequency. Sometimes the bladder has a bunch of nerves that are hyper sensitive and are acting as if you have to go to the bathroom but in fact you don't. I am not sure about you but I too have to go to the bathroom every 20 to 30 minutes all day and night and most of the time I only have to P a tiny bit not even 20cc. Do you have pain as your bladder fills? And then release as you empty? I have both of those which is IC. Another tip I have is if you have to push to P because of Pee retention try not to push because that will affect all of your pelvic floor muscles once again--it is a vicious cycle. Hope this helps. Don't give up. X

Hi Ladydidi,

Thanks for your reply,if you do decide to come off the meds a good sight to help you is Benzo buddies,if l had not had the help from this sight I don't think I would have come out the other side.as far as my bladder is concerned I had the camera a few years ago and it was clean.some days I don't go so much it all depends if I am busy or not.

Good luck to you best regards Jacko.
