Has anyone had problems booking a 3rd vaccination or a booster? Apparantly I am not ' eligible' for the booster even though I received an email to book it and i haven't received anything about booking the 3rd vaccine, its very frustrating!

Hi Chrissie, Gosh, I’m surprised (and sorry) to read this!

No, absolutely no issues. I’m assuming you’d have received all the letters in the first place to shield due to falling into the vulnerable category?

Is this with your GP surgery? Can you ask your PCD consultant to help support you in getting this?

Hi, yes I have received all the letters, I will try phoning 119 and see what they say, this seems crazy though, I am glad to hear that you haven't had any trouble!

It wasn't from my gp surgery, I got an invitation from the nhs to book online and then when I went to book that's when the computer tells me that i am not eligible!

According to the nhs or .gov website ( I forget which) Apparantly now that things have ' gone back to normal' and no longer required to shield that means that people are now not classed as clinically extremely vulnerable and thats why I cant book!

My husband has also had the same issue but kept trying and eventually it started working. 119 didn't help much though. I did notice there are some of the walk in centres which say that they also have boosters.

Thanks Lucy, has he received anything about a 3rd vaccine?

Yes, apparantly its 3 vaccines now and 1 booster so 4 altogether ( thats what they were talking about on the radio phone in on LBC yesterday anyway)

Ah OK. Then no we haven't heard anything about that

Just had a read and I think the 3rd jab (not booster) is for those with significantly weakened immune responses to vaccinations. He wouldn't fall into that category which is why he has just booked a booster jab. May be worth a chat to your consultant if you are worried

Hiya, so he has a flu jab and booster COVID jab booked (which would be 3rd vaccine). Is there another one you are thinking of?

I received a text message from ‘NHSvaccine’ on the 30th September ‘21, with this message:

As you are at increased risk of complications from COVID-19, you are a priority to receive your COVID-19 booster vaccine. Visit nhs.uk/covid-booster or call 119 to book. Choose a time and a place that suits you.

I then arranged an appointment to suit me and had my booster on 10th October at a local pharmacy. This makes it three COVID-19 vaccines in total for me.

My flu vaccine was earlier, at my GP practice, at the beginning of September.

Yes that was written in the email I received but then when I applied via the link and filled it out thats when it said I was not eligible. I looked on the .gov website and thats when I read the info about not shielding any more etc. On the bottom of the.gov page however there was the option too book the booster so I did. Its bizarre!

Well, glad you’ve managed to sort it all out and get your booster organised, after all the confusion.

Keep well.
