Hi there, I am 39 years old, with PCD (and situs viscerum inversus) and pregnant with my first child.
Our doctor is recommending a planned C-section saying it might be too difficult for me to have a natural birth with breathing issues. Has anyone gone through natural birth and how did you cope? Or if anyone had a c-section, was the recovering harder with doing therapy etc..?
thanks a lot,
Valentina

I have PCD and had a planned Caesarian section, this was mainly due to carrying twins and also having only one lung, so I didn't have a lot of puff.
My recovery was the same as any other woman going through the same thing, however it was very difficult to cough for the first few weeks, so doing any type of chest clearance was difficult, I had to hold a rolled up towel or cushion to my tummy area in order to attempt to cough. I got through it ok but also found it difficult to set aside the time to do the physio, partly due to being so busy and partly because of the lack of sleep and being so tired. Somehow at the end of it all you get through it and move onto the next lot of challenges!
All the best with your pregnancy, delivery and new baby.
Totally natural labour for Me, didn't have much choice, she came flying out! I was really hoping not to have a section just because I was worried about the coughing with stitches but I was very well st the time I have birth and still walking lots and quite active. If it had been anything other than a short labour or Id been recovering from an infection it might have been different x
Congratulations on your baby! Hope it all goes well xx
