Hi You are put in the support group if you have enough points. This means you get the higher rate and and are considered too ill to work. Just a word of caution, it will say on your award how long they think you will be too ill for work; it is not allowed to be open ended anymore. Then you will get the ATOS forms to fill in all over again This doesnt mean they will take it away; so make sure you keep photocopies of everything you have submitted.
Is the money coming through? If so thats it for now.
Hello.
Just a thought as even though I've never claimed any DLA or similar (PBC diagnosed Dec 2010), I have been interested reading questions and answers plus blogs on the subject as I never know futurewise if I may have to.
I seem to have read later last yr though that DLA was being axed from April this year and some other allowance coming in called PIP.
So would that not mean when a claim runs out as I seem to think happens for some (not sure if everyone) then wouldn't you have to then go through the new PIP system. I know the website is the DWP's and you can actually find PBC listed on it which may be of further help?
DLA + EAS is all a mystery to me as one person seems to be told one thing and others are told something else. I got it in 2006 as I had arthritish, asthma, depression, endiomitritis, depression, fibromyalgia, insomnia, megraine, raynauds, sciatica, scleroderma, sjogrens. All these conditions have deteriorated and I have others. Since menopause endiomitritis has been eliminated, thank goodness, but I now also have PBC and hiatis hernia in the mix. I got forms for DLA in December and had to fill them out, with help, for January. It takes between 16-18wks to hear whether or not I continue to get it or taken off it. I don't know what the outcome of this is gonna be or if I get it will it be changed to EAS or something else. Sorry this isn't much help but its all so confusing.
Thanku for the replies but I'm still no further forward, my Gmap rep called yest to tell me I should expect a lump sum of backdated payment of esa then started to tell me they could appeal the tribunals decision therefore I would not have won, confused yet? Cause I sure as hell am!
By the sounds of things you won your tribunal so they would backdate the money as if you were in the support group then. I think the support group get a little bit more than the working group.
Meant to say on all the letters you get from them it mentions about appeals so perhaps thats just something they have to legally say whether you won or not.
