I have taken it for quite a few years to counteract the side effects of my diabetic medication which is nausea and indigestion. At present I still have the nausea but it may be worse if I did not take it! All this may change at my next Dr appt as the diabetic meds do not work with pbc. Every medication taken has side effects.

i take it for a hiatus hernia years before having pbc to cut down on the acid reflux. it also helps now with the anti inflammatory i take for osteoarthritis as they can cause stomach problems. they are to help cut down the acid build up in the stomach and nothing to do with the pbc. however, if you get a lot of heartburn or acid reflux then they could help. speak to your GP.

I also take lansoprazole, mine is because I am on steroids. which helps with the stomach lining. I suggest when you next have your appointment you discuss this with your GP or Consultant.

Yes, me too because of steroids, really a preventative than anything else, makes the medication gentler in the stomach.

I take it daily as I was miserable with heart burn from the urso, I think it is brilliant

Had been reading an American article and it stated it was used as combination with urso to correct LFTs, but must have misread it and is really just used to counteract side effects. Thanks though everyone.
