Has anyone been able to claim attendance allowance
hi sorry no but i did receive disability living allowance for a couple of years when i was at my worst
Hi,
I have just put in and been refused DLA again. Am going to see the CAB lady on Thursday to ask for a review. She filled in the form for me.
Hi Not Attendance Allowance but did manage to get DLA.
I have been trying to get DLA , have been to a tribunal and they want more evidence, this has now been going on for 18 months and am about to give up, it's causing me too much stress.
Hi lindaclark, i applied for DLA recently and got a letter yesterday turning me down. I applied because im getting really bad pains in my feet and find walking a problem. I dont think they contacted my GP or my consultant about the PBC as the letter that said im not entitled to it was sent out the day after they received my application. They only got the form on mon 26th march. It said they were basing it on a medical i had in nov 2011 when i was on incapacity benefit which got changed to employment support which i receive now. I didnt have PBC when i got incapacity benefit. Im in a dilemma about whether to appeal as like you its too much stress and fed up about having more medical assesments. Ive been to a tribunal before about benefits and it was so nervous i was glad it was over. Ive had help from the people at CAB, they've been wonderful.

Linda please dont give up you must be almost there. They make it as hard as possible in the hope you will give up and go away, (I nearly did myself) I was often reduced to tears by it all but I did get there in the end. I know how you are feeling but try and hang on in there!
Just wished they could swap bodies with us for a week to see what it is like to live with.
Um not very likley then but perhaps I will ty thanks for your input
DLA is for those under 65 Attendance allowance for those 65 yrs and over.
The forms for both can be incredibly confusing especially as we often suffer with poor concentration anyway.
Do you have a welfare rights? These offices are often better than CAB for helping as they deal only with benefits etc, weareas the CAB don't always have someone on hand who deals only with these forms.
However, The PBC Foundation office do have some good advice available for those who are struggling to fill in these forms. They also have some good advice for health professionals who are often responsible for filling in parts of your application.
good Luck .
Sorry but I don't think my health profssionals are the least bit interested in what the foundation have to say, I recently took in a letter passed on to my from the fouddation by some one, I told my GP he could keep it as it listed most of what is affecting me and he just said oh have it back we have enough bits of paper hanging about. I am begining to loose faith in some medical people, I will take a copy to my consultant on Thursday to see what attitude he has. Getting a bit down hearted at the moment as I didn't know I had so many places I could be in pain, my joints are having a party and I haven't been invited.
Linda
Keep going it will be worth it in the end I receive DLA and my husband gets carers allowance I went to the local advice shop and lady there helped us fill in the forms then a doctor came to the house and asked lots of questions and he needed to see how I could manage which is very little as i think my body is away to the same party as yours , ha ha but on a serious note its hard but worth it good luck
