vitamins

I take vitamin D3, have done for years now if I stop taking it I don’t absorb it and with PBC we can be low or deficient so I would get that and the other fat soluble vitamins checked.
I take a good general vitamin and mineral supplement as well for about three months at a time, my iron is on the low side and this helps top up a bit which suited me better than the iron tablets prescribed by the GP they were not tolerable for me. But you’re doing the right thing getting levels checked before going ad hoc into vitamins.
hi I’ve recently started taking vitamin d and magnesium. I am sleeping so much better, and generally feel a lot less fatigued and better within myself. I also was checked and recommended to take zinc and vitamin b supplement too.
For the general population, not just PBC, it seems that we can be low on vitamin D especially in the Northern Hemisphere. I take a vitamin D + K spray by BetterYou. I am prescribed zinc as I was found to have a deficiency. Additionally I take ProVen 50+ which is a broad based multi vitamin of which my specialist is aware. As Candy12 says it is good that you are getting levels checked.
I have had absolutely no help or follow ups in 16 years of having PBC, the first ten years it was ignored, then I was officially diagnosed and told no meds. Luckily my Gp then got me the URsodiol. After which no DEXA or Fibroscan and no follow up at all by Bournemouth hospital. So I went to se a Specialist in Birmingham, who advised me to take Wellwoman Max, as it has the higher dose of selenium. Hope that helps.
I take vitamin d with k and fish oil. I also take a chewable vitamin c
My PCP tests my vitamin levels yearly and advises me what to increase or decrease but for the last several years it's been 'keep doing what you're doing.'. I take a multi vitamin, vitamin D, vitamin B Complex and calcium.
