It's 'Monday Me'....

Do you ever take the time to do something just for you? what are some ideas...

1. just find a quiet place - and just sit with your thoughts

2. Read a book

3. Get a massage, manicure, pedicure, hair cut, new hair color

4. Take a walk all by yourself

5. Arrange to meet a friend

5. Call a friend

6. Start on that craft project you bought 'awhile ago'.....

7. Take a class about something you've always wanted to learn to do

What else could you do for YOU? We all deserve taking time just for us. If you think it's selfish, then think again. If we don't fill our own cup, then when are 'empty', we have nothing to give anyone else.

Last week I had lunch with an amazing friend. She is someone I can confide in... isn't that a nice feeling? Does anyone have a friend like that? During a very 'deep' conversation, she grabbed my hand and we just looked at each others' teary eyes..no words needed at that moment. How powerful those moments can be.....

that is lovely Donna and it is so good to have a friend like that. One of my favourite things to do is to meet a friend for coffee and be able to talk openly about things that we know won’t be repeated or gossiped about. Though I have to admit, some friends just don’t understand PBC.. the fatigue etc. I had to phone doctors last week, just feeling ugh.. scalp irritable, I think I’ve possibly got Terrys nails .. and the response from the junior doctor was ‘what is your alcohol intake’. They just presume PBC is alcohol related and it’s very frustrating.

Anyway rant over for now.

Have a lovely Tuesday. The weather is lovely here this week - 18 degrees and sunny and dry

How is it that doctors in this day and age still relate any liver disease to alcohol?!!! Is this the doctor that treats you? I hope not... educating our medical community is a battle that The PBC Foundation continues to fight every single day.

Feel free to rant here anytime. It is a gorgeous 'almost Fall' morning here. Love it!

If we have a friend we can confide in - what a blessing! I just have to get past the thought of not wanting to burden her, and remember that we love each other. I’m in the process of trying highlights in my gray hair for my daughter’s upcoming wedding, and that has been fun! I recently retired from my job and am free to stay in bed on a bad day with PBC and/or migraines. I try to take time daily for prayers of thanksgiving, prayers for others and prayers for myself. I couldn’t read for awhile- something about PBC made it hard to focus on a book, but have recently started reading some shorter books- oh how I’ve missed reading!!

Thank you, Donna for encouraging us and sharing your life with us. I look forward to your posts. 😊

I love every word you said! When my daughter got married, I can honestly say I enjoyed every moment of the planning and being with her. It was a magical time for me. When is the wedding? Sounds like your days are exactly what you want them to be - thinking and praying for others and yourself as well. For a shorter book I would highly recommend reading The Cafe on the Edge of the World. Such a thought provoking book.... one of the only ones I've ever read twice. Thanks for your kind words. I always want everyone to know that I understand what it is to have PBC.
