Ok, folks.... what are you doing just for yourself?
We all need to take time for ourselves.. if you have trouble justifying this, you likely aren't alone.
Who has trouble with taking time for themselves?

Today I spent the majority of my day with my 12 year old Grandson....picked out pumpkins, did some carving on the deck, made Halloween cookies ( of course ate some icing), and then an angel food cake. It was a very good day! He just makes me smile...
I am painting some black railings today and although it is a job that has to be done it is an enjoyable task.
I spent the morning in bed
Assuming you weren't sick, that is great self care! When we need to rest or nap we have to learn to listen to our bodies. Our body works very hard for us - we need to take care of it in every way we can.
Arthritic pain Donna, it helps to rest
I'm so sorry to hear that... do you see a rheumatologist for it?
Yes I do. I was diagnosed with OA over 20 years ago even though I wasn't in any pain. I was dumbfounded. The pain came later and I'm still an outpatient I go every 4 or 6 months for reviews. I was with rheumatology until they suggested moving me to connective tissue.
When the pain hits I rest rather than take painkillers. Its a nuisance its so inhibiting. I don't want surgery even though its been offered. Got an appointment next month with a physio...probably more exercises.
I appreciate you sharing that with us. I would be dumbfounded as well being diagnosed without pain. I always thing of arthritis of any kind being painful. Connective tissue is a new dept for me to know about. What surgery is even available for this? Let me know how the appointment goes next month, please.
The surgery is for OA Donna, knees in my case but if I can manage I don't want it.
I've copied and pasted a paragraph about connective tissue from google although I imagine you'll know about it. Surgery might involve cartilage loss in joints. I'm not well informed about that. Lots of information on the net about it. Here's a sample.
"Connective tissue is a type of tissue in the body that supports, protects, and connects other tissues and organs:
Structure: Connective tissue provides structure and support to the body, similar to a house's framework.
Protection: Connective tissue protects the body against disease.
Storage: Connective tissue stores fat.
Transportation: Connective tissue helps move nutrients and other substances between tissues and organs.
Repair: Connective tissue helps repair damaged tissue.
Thanks for sending this. All I can say is do your homework from reputable sites. I had a knee replacement 2 years ago and I SWORE never again. But.... now the other one really bothers me. Scheduled for 2/28/25. Hope I don't back out. Ortho surgery of any kind, I think, always worrysome.
