numb hands

Just wondering if anyone gets pins and needles and numb hands, I wake up every night with pins and needles in both hands and then they are conpletely numb, I literally have to shake them to get some feeling back. I also have sciatica for which I take pregablin, it was alright for a while but seems to be coming back,, along with severe leg cramps. Anyone else the same

Yes I had this quite badly last year, I to have sciatica and neck problems thought it was one of those causing it, but then I was told I had a B12deficiency and had loading doses 6 over 2/weeks injections andI now have 1 injections every 3 months,anyway since having the B12 the pins and needles and numbness seems to have gone, so whether that was coincidental or not ,I am not sure. I had a Claudial spinal injection for sciatica before Christmas it took the edge of for a few weeks but now the pain is back.

Have you had you B12 checked ? Or maybe get your neck checked in case there is any impingement.

Hi thanks for your reply, I have had my B12 levels checked and they were ok, I will perhaps look into the neck, I find the numbness is very distressing and uncomfortable

Gabapentin is a drug often used for numbness or some type of nerve pain. Just a thought...

Thanks for that, I am already taking pregablin for sciatic pain so I don’t know really if that works the same as gabapentin for nerve pain xx
