Terbinafine tablets and pbc

Morning all,

so I know we’re not supposed to be asking for medical advice but I’m just keen to understand if anyone has had any experience with taking terbinafine oral tablets with PBC? I’ve had fungal infection on all my right toes and it’s been bothering me for years. Long story short I’ve always used topical creams which have kept them at bay but come the winter months where I wear shoes and socks it often comes back and spreads further.

So I’ve recently had my appointment with my consultant and she said my bloods are normal (apart from GGT), fibroscan is normal, and have been advised it’s ok to take them. I guess I’m just a little hesitant given the bad reputation terbinafine tablets have.

maybe I’m just being silly as my consultant has given me the OK just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these tablets.

I have nail fungus as well for many many years. I saw my dermatologist just last month and she reaffirmed there is no safe products to take orally for it.
