All these problems people have with gums and teeth I just thought it normal to have gaps in your smile as like other pensioners with no money

Teeth
I cannot confirm that my PBC (diagnosed four years ago @ Stage 3) is the cause, but I am experiencing receding gums and some cavities. Ironically I have taken excellent care of my teeth, had regular checkups by my dentist and, until recently, have had no cavities. Suddenly the dentist found several. I can’t account for the change, but my guess is that it is the PBC.
Good luck!

PBC caused dry mouth which as a result, there us not enough saliva to keep the teeth bathed of bacteria. Using sugar free mints and gum is helpful. My dentist recommends products with Xylitol which is apparently protective as well as promotes healthy tissue by stopping the growth of bacteria. Using a xylitol mouth wash a few times a day will also help.
When I was young i was told poor enamel was responsible for poor state of teeth. Regular 6 month appointments kept on top of things. During lockdown obviously no contact with dentist and lost loads of fillings and a tooth under a cap sheered off. Dentist left the area and NO practice taking on NHS patients. I’ve been on list to see dentist privately and still haven’t been seen. Info about xylitol mouthwash and gum interesting although chewing action may stimulate gastric acid production which may aggravate stomach condition
I’ve lost most of my teeth and am going to get dentures soon. I’ve heard it called PBC teeth
