Hi Deeplydepp. Pyruvate is an intermediate molecule that is made when our cells convert sugar (glucose) into a form of energy that they can use and need to drive just about all cellular functions. If this pyruvate conversion is disrupted, it could indicate a metabolic condition. I’m a cell and molecular biologist but not a medical doctor, so it’s best to discuss the clinical meaning of your result with them. I wish you well!
