I was prescribed it for a short time and my consultant had to seek permission as cost about £10,000 for a year’s supply in the UK. It didn’t work so tried betafibrates and they did - a fraction of the cost!

I was on bezafibrate which brought my numbers down but keep an eye on your kidneys because it can cause problems.

Been on Bezafibrates for about 6 years now with no problems at all. But thanks for the alert. X

so glad it works for you. I must be honest it did a good job for me until my kidneys started giving up the ghost. I was on it for 4 years and it also reduced my itching.

Hi!

I can’t address Ocaliva, but here in the USA I take two 500 mg Ursodiol daily at an approximate cost of $100 (through GoodRxGold. My PBC was diagnosed as Stage 3 four years ago; that’s when I started this med. I am an 84 year old male. While I don’t precisely address your question, I hope you realize some benefit.

Best

Don
