Hi Carrickgal omg that's weird! I'm also from Carrick maybe this thing isn't as rare as they say! Altho older than u at 58. Can I ask who your consultant is? Is it the Royal? Thanx Lynn

No way Lynn! George Jacob finally diagnosed in Antrim but he has retired and now with RVH. You aren't allocated a consultant there you will end up seeing any of them. Are you with Castle Pracrice? I sent you private message with my number xx

Yep I'm with Castle practice. I seen Dr Cash who is one of the hepatologists in the liver unit in the RVH privately first and he initially thought it was autoimmune hepatitis because of the bloods and then did a liver biopsy to confirm in the Royal but it showed pbc not aih so he has put me on Urso. I was only diagnosed in Feb this year 2 weeks after my Dad passed away so it hasn't been a good year so far!!

I have just been diagnosed with pbc I'm having 750mgs of urso daily I feel very unwell have bad night sweats n have constant diarrhoea
