Lived dilation

Does anyone know what this means? I have just spoken to the consultant after a CT scan and he said he saw "dilation.". I will be getting an MRI of the liver next week. Thank you!

I have heard of a bile duct being dilated, do you think the consultant could have been referring to that? Hopefully the MRI will give the specialist a better idea of what is going on.

best wishes

Butterfly, thanks for writing. I agree that it's likely he's referring to a bile duct being dilated, especially if it's the common bile duct. Sometimes it's the blood vessels, too. I'm going to call my GP today and see if she has received anything from him. Many thanks!
