I have one that helps! It's kind of like a meditation. Sit in a chair, and start "belly breathing" do that a few times and then start exhaling through the mouth, lips in a puckered fashion. So you are inhaling through the nose down into the belly and exhaling through the mouth. Do this for15 minutes daily. You can do it 5 minutes at a time or 10 and 5. --Pam
Snap!!! I feel so tightly wound up today. Putting done off it down to hormones and being fed up being stuck in house, can’t wait to be out of shielding and back to work. Only 12 hours a week but it’s my escape 😁. So I will be watching and waiting for some good suggestions you get 😁 xx
Sending hugs xxx
Hi , My anxiety been really bad the past few weeks .....it fluctuates from pbc worry to the current situation to no reason at all ....I find keeping life in the present helps , music and distraction ....a walk , however short is a great way to combat anxiety but I haven't been out today because of the weather , so music and communicating with friends and family have been priority ....
Keep reaching out and know you are not the only one xx
Hi Cathycomehome... Thankyou for reply. I'm sorry to hear your anxiety is bad.. Its because I can totally understand and relate to it. Mine same.. From one reason to another to nothing atall. I feel like it's only me that is feeling this in the whole world but of course its not just me. I think anxiety is through the roof with just anybody lately. Living through this pandemic is hard for the strongest of people isn't it xx. I'm not asking where you live just what county?? Can't remember if u told me. No pressure if u don't want to. I'm in Essex UK. Are you abroad to me???? ☺️
I think you will find that Robert from the PBC Foundation runs a Self Management seminar on a Tuesday afternoon. Details can be found on their web site or go to their FaceBook page and you will find previous sessions which can still be watched.
For myself I find the breathing technique works as suggested by 4pjx__
I also use the circle of influence - learned from the PBC Foundation, Robert - thank you.
I also listen in to presentations on You Tube for mindfulness and at the moment almost every night I am listening to Jason Stephenson's sleep guided meditations helps to stop my mind for over reacting to everything and allows some sleep.
Hi Lagathavikings. I’m sorry to hear of your struggles with anxiety. I suffered from it for a long time a few years back. I was working and raising my 4 year old at the time, although I could barely function. I eventually had to quit my job. It was a terrible time as I tried to manage it all. One day I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ and I was healed. It didn’t happen overnight, but as I trusted Him with my life, He gave me much needed calmness and peace. I continue to trust in Him when life gets tough and He never fails to provide His peace. Getting diagnosed with PBC, losing my job, then the pandemic could have set me back but I find joy even during these events knowing that God is in control. I know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose (Romana 8:28). He can do the same for you if you accept Jesus as your Savior. He loves you more than you can ever imagine. God bless you and everyone else in this group. 🤗💕
Amen! I'm thankful to know Jesus, also. I don't think I would survive without His Holy Spirit guiding me each day. Thanks for sharing your faith.
Hi I use prayer. Please know that you are in our prayers for Christ's peace and comfort as you recover.
I suffered a lot of anxiety last year at the start of the pandemic. I have always been an anxious person, but last year it became unbearable. My job, this disease, being a mother can all add up and be too much even without a pandemic. . Last year, my doctor gave me something to help me sleep. Not sleeping well can make anxiety even worse. I do a number of things besides that that help. I take a walk somewhere relaxing like a park. I play scrabble on my phone. I have adult colouring books I sometimes use, but lately I have started doing art(painting) using You Tube tutorials. It forces me off my screens, and into a calm place. Lastly, I find watching something funny on TV with my family helps too.. Laughter is the best medicine. I have to make an effort daily to not let my mind spiral into worrying. Every one is different, but if it is affecting your quality of life seek professional help if you can. I live in Canada, and it is very difficult to find help for mental health these days. COVID has created an epidemic of people struggling. It is true that you are not alone in how you are feeling. Take care.
