I have been using 500 mg Ursodiol 2 x daily for 14 months and have also gained a bit, but I think mine has more to do with not sticking with my diet and exercise than the med. I wouldn’t stop the med, except on advice of the doc. I am going to get back to my regimen and hope you will also. Best of luck!
You might also check the website eHealthme. I haven’t been there—just now found out about it—but, yes, a study there did show weight gain, especially among females, age 60 and up, who had been taking the drug one to six months. I am going to fight back with diet and exercise. Best.
I take 500mg of Urso daily for the past few years. Since september through following weight watchers I have lost 2 stone in weight. Taking Urso is not an excuse for weight gain!
Firstly amount. You should be taking 13-15mg/kg weight. I'm 65kg and taking 1000mg/d.
Secondly in my opinion weight is purely calories in and out. If you are putting on weight then you eat less calories and/or burn more with exercise. There is no other way. Best of luck.
Thank you, I take in about 1200 calories, I have a problem with my pancreas and the food seems to weigh heavy and I have no choice but to stop eating, otherwise I get pain I have been in hospital not long ago to nourish me.
