According to my last several imaging tests I have an expanded bile duct. Is this normal for the disease? I am scheduled for an endoscopic ultrasound in a few weeks to take a better look at it. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is there any thing they can do for it? Or are we just spending a ton of money and time just looking at it. Everytime I have a test they seem to want to do another test to "get a better look at it". Honestly, I am getting a little worn out from it all. I thought I was in pretty good health until they found the PBC and I don't really have the patience for it. Diagnosed 2 years ago at stage 3. I feel pretty good but I never seem to pass these stupid tests. Anyway, it makes me feel like a loser.

Why do you feel like a loser, it’s not your fault you have some obscure disease which they can’t cure. There is some hope as there are new drugs being trialed all the time. I’m on one at mo with promising results.
Yes, i as well was told that my Bile Duck is enlarged. And the docs say the say thing "more test, to get a better look". Booooo i say.
I am 50, and got the PBC diagnosis back in May of this year (2022) I have started on the URSO med. 500mg a day. Its a high dose. I havent a clue if its working or helping. I do feel incredibly fortunate to be at the very begin stage of this PBC stuff. My biggest problem so far is being crazy tired and the hangover effect some mornings (when i take all of my prescribed sleep medication) I have always had belly issues. And migraines for the last 20 years. Maybe they both had to do with the PBC all along. Anyhow, thank you for asking your question. Thank you for this forum to learn and share about PBC. You are not alone. Stay safe, hydrated and as positive as one can, moving forward...one day at a time.
Thank you Ms.Avery! Today everything is going fine. I did have the endoscopic ultrasound and they said all was good. That was a few years ago. I go in every six months for blood work and ultrasounds so far I am doing okay! Yes you are lucky you were diagnosed at an early stage . Stay as well as possible!
