I have been considering going gray about every three weeks since those little sparklers have been coming in. The hassle of trying to cover them with natural products is futile.
So last night I decided to research hair dye and increased LFT's. Wallah! This article came up. so, I'm jumping on the fence I've been perched up on and going to do a transition with silver highlights. Will it make a difference in my numbers? Only time will tell. Let me know your thoughts on this. Be we;;
I love the look on young women...it will be interesting to see if I have the same affection on this 60 something head. The article was a game changer for me. Thanks ladies. ....Trendy, that's me!
I dyed my hair for years too but decided I had had enough and just wanted to leave it grey but I didn’t want to go through the transition period where my roots were growing back in so I was very brave and got it all shaved off. Fortunately my hair grows quick so after a few weeks it was getting a bit longer. People said I suited it and that I looked like sinead O’Connor (ha ha). But so pleased now I have done this my hair is in such good condition now. So I would say GO FOR IT!!! Best wishes. Take care xxxxx
It does become too much after all the years of coloring my hair. First it was for fun, but now it's to try to fool the world that I'm still a young chick??? Although it looks great, i am having to spend way too much time on it. You were definitely brave to shave it all off. I have threatened to do that before, but that came from it getting way out of control. I have thick curly hair that loves to be wild. Thanks for the inspiration
Well I don’t have a problem as I was diagnosed in 2002 with PBC and lichen planus and lost my hair gradually many years ago! I now wear a silverstone wig! Being a hairdresser it was a nightmare at the time! Retired 10years ago!
I knew of the correlation between hair dye chemical and liver cancer. This is the first i ever saw in print that actually called out PBC. Thanks for the input
Also, thank you for the link. Although i did not see anything about the hair dye in it(probably missed that part), the abstract was quite informative. Had to put on my super brain hat to ingest it. Wow....so much good information
Yes it needed a bit of digestion, most of the info on chemicals relating to liver was at the beginning. It mentioned the same chemical that was in the link you put up. The reasearch has been around a while, I remember reading it years ago but that was the most recent.
I cut my hair a little short and had blond highlights put in, then gradually let the highlights grow out and voila! I figured I had gray and that is highlights too!
I had highlights too! I used to color my hair in blonde for years, but after I noticed my first gray hair I decided to slow down. I discovered such thing as root concealer, check the article mystraightener.com/how-to-c... and mostly using it because it washes out easily if you want.
I started my transition about 5 weeks ago...I'm loving it. The silver highlights are an extension of where my sparkles were coming in. A demi permanent was but on the rest to match my base color. Don't know why i waited so long...it's absolutely stunning.
Thanks for you tip
I stopped colouring my hair two years ago, best thing I have done. I was so fed up colouring my roots every three weeks, rocking the grey now
I want to thank all of you lovely ladies for you replies. It is so nice to read such positive viewpoints. I live in a senior community in Az. Lots of gray haired girls here. So, I'll fit right in. Funny how I think I'm so special, like aging is a myth! Pride and ego be gone!
