Has anyone had an ultrasound of their liver and had a finding of 'gas in the biliary tree' ? Only information online is that it might be caused after surgery which I have not had. Thanks

Biliary Tree Gas
Hi atmn2g, it showed up once when I had an ultrasound that I had something called aerobillia air in ducts. I’d had a liver transplant a couple of years prior though.i don’t know if it can apply without transplant ? Good luck finding out.
Thanks Dotyy. Yes it sounds like the same thing, according to Google. If you don't mind me asking what happened after they found it in your ultrasound? Were there any complications? My search online says it can happen after surgery but I have not had any surgery and am in the early stages of PBC, that is why I am worried. Thank you for your message
Hi, I read it in my patients copy of the consultation and test results. I too read lots about it and waited to the following check up 6 months later and was told on raising my concerns that there was nothing to worry about and it happens. I don’t know about you but I could feel like having a stitch in my liver I think that was the air. It gradually disappeared. I hope if you are concerned that you raise it again with your consultant. All the best.
