Wow that is good news shaza1966 . I have read quite a bit recently about Bezafibrate, it would be good if it could filter through to other specialists.

Hi there, I take Bezalip, which I think is the same.

I was diagnosed with PBC 2014 but had it many years before that, and I’m celiac.

I had a fibroscan in 2016 and the result was 11.4 Which was a shock to me.

My doctor put me on Bezalip along with the Urso and a year later my fibroscan results were 7.4 which is so much better. Also my Alp and AST blood tests show normal, first time in many years...

I have no more fatigue...

Feel so much better taking these 2 meds together...

Good news! May I ask what is Bezalip?

Ok, I knew about benzafibrates, just wasn’t familiar with it called Bezalip. Thank you!🤗

Think that's just a "brand name". I'm just so glad that this drug is helping some of our dear PBC sisters!

Yes by all means. I would have to listen to Dr Gish again, but I think he said he’s getting close to prescribing it as well. We all welcome new options. 🦋

I saved the medpage article I will read in depth later. I’m curious if it has to be taken with Urso or, if like Ocaliva, can be taken along.

G’morning Shaza. No, I have had good results with OCA so far. But it’s always good to have a back-up option. 🦋

Hi Katiagreece , i am happy to hear of your results . I only wish my bezaibrate helped me with my fatigue , as i still get it know and again . My Gastroenterologist told me that there is no help for my fatigue and even after a liver transplant you may still suffer fatigue . Awe well ! i'm still over the moon with my results . Best wishes to you .
