Need more advice

So I've posted before I've been told that I have a fatty liver but nothing has ever been done. Now I have high copper and high ceruloplasmin and I just talked to the nuerologist that ordered that teat and her response was normally the ceruloplasmin is low but yours is high so I have no answers for you. Just don't worry about it. She looked at labs that I guess was done on my liver but don't know what they were and she said they were normal. So can anyone tell me can you have normal liver tests but still have fatty liver or another liver disease

What tests have they done to diagnose you with Fatty liver and what stage of liver disease are you?

I know high levels of copper can be a sign of Primary Biliary Cirrhosis and low levels of copper are a sign of Wilson’s disease, however, you can have Wilson’s Disease with high levels of copper when it is coupled with acute liver disease.

Either way your liver doctor should be involved. Have you been placed on any liver meds yet?

I have been told I have fatty liver with ultrasounds in the past. I am not on any liver meds yet as I don't have a liver doctor yet either. I do back to my family doctor on Tuesday for swollen lymph nodes in my neck and under my jaw and I will discuss the copper issue again and then maybe I can get a referral to a liver specialist. I am so extremely fatigued with no energy, itchy skin, breaking out with acne, my little finger on my right hand goes numb and tingles all the time. Don't know if those are signs of anything or not.

Do you have a primary care physician? Get a copy of your recent tests from the neurologist & have the PCP help you figure it out.

I am not a doctor, but if your liver panel is normal then I don’t think that there is anything wrong with your liver.

The doctor who informed you of the fatty liver, did you ask why that was the case or what evidence supports that statement?

That’s what I would do. Good Luck.

I take back what I said about the “normal” liver panel. I think there are instances where the panel is normal but the liver is not well.

Best to see what the experts/doctors tell you. I apologize for my error.

My PVP has already looked at the results and on Monday I will have blood work done to test some liver function. As far as the fatty liver I was told it's because I was overweight and nothing more was said about it.

Just because someone is overweight does not necessarily mean they have a fatty liver. It is a bad stereotype or assumption. Diagnosis should be evidence based.

Have the doctor run tests on the thyroid too. Tiredness can be impacted by the thyroid as well.

Keep us posted.
