No clue. I don’t think I had that test. I’m sure I’ve seen it mentioned here. 😊

I looked st my ANA Cascade. I see a Smith (SM) Antibody. Is that it?

gwillistexas profile image
gwillistexas

Nope that’s not what it is. Labtestsonline says it is done to check for autoimmune hepatitis. So great you’re negative 🤗

That's my confusion. I'm looking at the results from the hospital trying to figure out how they diagnosed me with auto immune hepatitis.

My hepatitis tests were done in the Hepatitis Panel *Acute. All negative

I still can't find any test that would say I have autoimmune hepatitis. Just looked they did not do a hepatitis panel. I sent my Physician's Assistant a email hopefully I will know something Monday morning but from what I see I don't have Autoimmune Hepatitis.

Hi there

I the AMA test determines weather you have pbc or not if they not sure if it pbc or AIH they will do a biopsy, don't think there's a test panel for AIH

gwillistexas profile image
gwillistexas in reply tokimphoebe

AIH can be tested & is included in the ANA Cascade.

I stand corrected thank you

No problem. I had so many different tests in the beginning & have to refer back to see what was tested under which test. It’s all a maze.

gwillistexas profile image
gwillistexas in reply tokimphoebe

Well, I need to correct also. My acute hepatitis panel tests Hep A B C. Looks like ANA tests several different antibodies...Sjögren lupus RA Schleroderma and a few I don’t understand what they are.

Of course I've locked myself out of my portals I cant get in to look at the test. Brain fog was so bad yesterday, I think I put the password in too many times incorrectly they booted me out. They did 30 different test on me when I was in the hospital not one of them says that I tested positive for auto immune Hepatitis. I know I already have lupus and sjorgrens those have had for years. I would love for this test to be right I don't need 4 auto immune diseases I think 3 of plenty.

Girl...🤣not many chances to get the right password, lol!!! Maybe you can get in today😊

Bobbiesitzman profile image
Bobbiesitzman in reply togwillistexas

😂🤣😂 No, they restricted me. I know the right password. Unfortunately I'm one of those who have the same password for everything and I still get it wrong. I like to blame that on my blind eye. I gt so flustered aandmy brain is so cloudy I just start hitting the wrong buttons😂🤣 Like that's gonna change something.

gwillistexas, I am so grateful for people like you who have kept all their test results who can help newbies figure this out. I wish it wasn't Sunday.

Honey it’s all in my portal. I look at the tests pretty often but sometimes I still tell somebody wrong. But I do try to correct if I’ve spoken wrong.

I didn’t go to church this morning. For some reason my spirits were low. My husband sent a msg that a lady at church passed away. I had spoken with her several times. She didn’t have PBC & never really said what her problem was with her liver. She had been denied a transplant. But last time we spoke she said her numbers were all over the place & was greatly affecting her kidneys. Saw her 2 weeks ago today at church. Then she was placed in Home hospice.

Now, hurry up and wait until tomorrow morning when I can talk to the physician's assistant. I'm still in shock. I know with my lupus it was hard to diagnose because one day you can test positive the next day negative. However I hope they are correct and I don't have AIH.

Be here before you know it. I pray it’s negative. Seems a few of the labs can yo yo. My drs NP also said bilirubin can fluctuate. We like to see something good to stay that way. Go enjoy that movie today & busy yourself 😀

He didn’t get to go. His granddaughter was showing a bull yesterday about an hour from here so he didn’t get home early enough. Not much planned today. Going to get out in a bit & see what I can get into, lol!

Did you have a liver biopsy

Bobbiesitzman in reply to

Both AST-107 and ALT-821 are still elevated, they've actually came down a lot in the last month. Not sure what ASMA blood work is. What is that test for? I've only been diagnosed a month so I'm learning lots. I had a liver biopsy done in 2014. My Hepa Dr. was happy with the MRI and US abdomen RUQ test from the hospital last month and wanted wait for a biopsy.

in reply toBobbiesitzman

Smooth muscle refers to aih as far as I know. I am smooth muscle positive but on my lab it says asma

I've been googling, primarily used to detect autoimmune hepatitis but can be present in 20 to 45% of pbc sufferers in it's own right. I think they were just checking darling. Good that they're making sure they've covered everything. Xx

I was able to get back into my portal and compare the test from my hospital to my first Hepa doctor appointment. I think you're right they are just being very theral. I'm still curious on how I was diagnosed with the AIH. I am Very very happy with my Hepa Dr. and his physician's assistant. They already had my records from hospitail and gone over them before my appointment last week.

Bobbiesitzman profile image
Bobbiesitzman

So the mystery has been solved, (well kind of) they did not test me for AIH in the hospital last month. The diagnosis was from a previous biopsy in 2014 the liver doctor at that time was looking for PSC. Biopsy was negative. She went a head and diagnosed me with AIH, never saying anything to me. It was in my medical records. This is the same doctor that upset me so much, I started using a holistic naturopath doctor. My new Hepa doctor will be doing more tests next month to rule out AIH.
