Am Liver Foundations Expert Discussion

G’morning. A lady PBCer on the ALF fb group, shared a very interesting round table discussion on you tube last night. It is long but worth your time. Google American Liver Foundation East Coast Division. I believe it is the 7th link down (you tube). When you tube comes up it will be the 2nd video. This expert discussion was on 1/30/18. You may want to skip through the 1st lady, she isn’t a dr & tells basic things we all know. I’m glad I watched it.

Is this the video?

Fast forward to 20 minutes in and the dr. starts. This link should take you to dr talking.

You’re welcome. It helped me. I knew bilirubin levels were important but didn’t know the direct bilirubin is the main one to watch. 😊

Thank you gwillistexas

So interesting and such a lot of information. I will have to hear this again and will listen to it all but today I skipped to the doctors and found it most interesting. I am glad you shared it.

best wishes

Dr Gish is a world renowned hepatologist & liver specialist. I googled him. Very interesting dr.

Would someone please spell the type of test he is saying needs to be done that is newer than the fibroscan>? I am having a hard time hearing his comments as clear as possible. I do take Urso 500 x2 day. My numbers are all down but feel the need for this other test in stead of another liver biopsy

Thanks,

Dee

As Dr Gish said, there are several new models. I should be having another one around September. I see Dr again in June. I will ask the difference if any. 😊
