I have slightly elevated alkaline phosphatase (150 and 126 most recently) and two low AMA M2 results (24.6 and 29). The doctor is not sure if I have PBC or not. Another factor is I am only 24 which is not the common age. Does anyone diagnosed with PBC have a similar history? If yes, how did it turn out for you?

Low positive
Hello I went to doctors with fatigue itching hands and joint pain so I had symptoms. The doctors found AMA so I saw a liver doctor, my liver function tests were completely normal, I was monitored annually and after 5 years the alkaline phosphatase rose followed after a couple of years by the bilirubin.I was older than you at 40 when all this started.

May I ask what your AMA level was when first found And that all those years you did not take meds for PBC?
I am afraid I don't know what the level of AMA was at diagnosis.I wasn't put on Urso until the liver function tests became elevated. It's now around 10 years since I first had the AMA and I've been on Urso for around 5 years it has brought the alkaline phosphatase down although it's still above normal and my liver does have quite a bit of scarring, but there's new medicines and more in development so I remain hopeful.
What is considered positive with this lab. My AMA M2 is .08 but my enzymes was elevated . I’m also 54 now but at time of elevations I just turned 53 years old.
