PBC and Diabetes

hello, was wondering does anyone else have type 2 diabetes and being told the PBC caused the diabetes ?

Doubt PBC can cause diabetes the type 2. (My son-in-law and his daughter have the type 1, he was 14 when he acquired, his child only 2.)

It's said that diabetes type 2 can be caused by diet.

It does peridot, it can messed up endocrinology system and lead u into diabetes 😔

I’ve just recently read about this as well...I don’t, but working in healthcare it’s one of the diseases I fear most...not because of the disease but the treatment is so expensive and I have patients that I’m constantly fighting insurance over paying for their treatments. I also think Big Pharma takes advantage of how common it is as well...

It does and diabetes is one of the problem that can caused by pbc..

Im recently diagnosed with reactive hypoglycemia which is kind of diabetes or leads to diabetes!

Check with your liver and endocrinologist 👍🏼

It's new to me.

One of the things that PBC can due to vitamin malabsorption is have an impact on the bones.

I'm in the UK and only saw a hepatologist plus my own GP.

Last time I had a blood check re diabetes never had a problem.

Not everyone will have this problem! Luckily my liver specialist send me endocrinologist for thyroid and from thyroid to reactive hypoglycemia now.. that’s why it is important to eat healthy

doctor told me Immune system attacking liver caused me to be insulin resistant and there for got type 2 diabetes

I had an Uncle who had diabetes , but other than that have not heard anyone else has it

I'm just about under watching my diet not quite over the threshold for type 2 but my gastro is sending me to endrochronologist. For investigation. X

As soon as I was diagnosed with pbc my liver specialist sent me to the endo!

I have diabetes and autoimmune PBC. I can't get my diabetes under control. I am taking for injections insulin four times a day, 3 quick acting for meals and 1 long-time acting at night along with metformin. I was taking Glipizide but somewhere was harmful to the liver. My liver doctor is silent on the subject. have you heard of hepatogenesis where the a liver causes the diabetes or at least takes it over?
