Itchy welts

For those of you that have them, do these look familiar. They are spreading and getting worse. Go to GP tomorrow. I have not eaten, drank or been exposed to anything to cause this. They got worse after I tried to exercise and started sweating.

Maybe try an anti-histamine tablet like Cetirizine or Chlorphenamine to settle this down. Does look like an allergic type reaction but can also occur spontaneously. Occasionally triggered by Nurofen or similar.

Best wishes.

Thanks for your help.

Hello labootz16.

As far as I know PBC does not cause welts or red circles, spots, etc on the skin. I started itching early 2010 that led to being diagnosed with PBC December 2010. I had no signs of anything on my skin, it was coming from inside.

The only time I did have odd marks was with scratching.

You could have something like thrush or a skin infection and really need to see a doctor to have it checked out.

Hi labootz16

I had welts like that when I had an allergic reaction to urso, they got so they covered most of my body, also swollen lips and eyes with very low blood pressure. Are you on urso, if yes how long since you started.. Gp advised piritese or similar which got rid of it about 3 days later.(also had to stop urso). It's good you're seeing your gp soon

Best wishes

Labootz16. I agree with Peridot. I get marks from scratching until I bleed. My body is full of scars from all the scratching, but it does not look like yours. I do also suffer from eczema, mostly the palms of my hands
