Labs are normal

Had labs drawn on July 6th and everything came back normal. Started my 2 month of Urso about a week ago. Now if i could just eat. I have no appetite i do get hungry but as soon as i take 2 bites of anything im full. I keep losing weight and this has me concerned. I feel like i have been hit by a truck headache, body hurts. Is this common as my body is adjusting to the medicine? I also just had a colonoscopy done on the 7th. Dont have the results of that yet. I keep reading most people gain weight with urso. Just dont know what yo do anymore.

I feel that the weight issue is different with us PBC'ers. In my case, I to cannot keep weight on. I could eat as much if not more than my fiance who is 6 ft. 4in. & weighs 200+. It never matters what I eat or how often. I just cannot keep on any weight. I've had people comment to me how they would love to eat whatever & still be as thin as I. My reply is usually something like, I'd gladly take some extra weight if they could give me my healthy self back. It's just something I've had to learn to deal with.

I am another person who cannot keep the weight on, I lost a stone within 3 months at the beginning of the year. I was already just at a normal weight. The urso is keeping me at the underweight stage and unlike you, I can eat tons but its not made any difference. I could not eat at the beginning of Urso but that was tied up with possible diagnosis and other issues so I think for me it was a worry. Are you struggling with the diagnosis side or other stresses, no need to tell me just wondering if that may be making you not want to eat?

If I had £1 for each person who said it was good and I should not complain, or what's the secret, I would be rich! I am way under what I should be healthwise and this worries me as I want to be fighting fit as much as I can. the hepatologist did amongst other tests a creatinine test and it is very low. So muscle wise it's not healthy either.

I hurt too, I ache, the fatigue if I push at all to ignore it or what I used to was to cope on adrenaline, it just does not work, so I hurt lots more and my liver aches more constantly than odd twinges.

I am having the same results as you. No appetite. I eat i get nauseous. I keep a headache. My body joints muscles and throb all the time. I think its sideeffects from urso. I also went to the ER over the weekend because of this pain and i took two aleeve. Which caused a flare up where i hurt under my rib through my back. Labs drawn they said they were normal but i was dehydrated and had a bladder infection. In which they couldn't give me anything for pain or an antibiotic. So the gave me an iv bag and zofran for nausea then sent me home. I currently have bruises all over my legs and arms. Is anyone else experiencing extreme bruising?

I bruise but always have. The slightest tap and I bruise, blood test bruising is humongous, again always have though. I am low in weight so I think not much padding against knocks haha.

Unlike you, I had the symptoms before Urso bar the headache and nausea went once the Questran was stopped, plus my pain is exactly where you say and through to the back.

I hope your nausea subsides soon. I find I have to eat as much as possible and drink a huge glass of water with my Urso or I feel dodgy.

Thank you. You have to ask other to clarify if its just you or is this common among PBC.

Thank you

I can't gain weight either. I went through a period of time when I couldn't eat anything after the colonoscopy. It took me a long time to get back to normal but still not 100%.

I took Sucralfate and Ranitidine (both are prescribed), high dose probiotic (I take VSL3), digestive enzyme, L-Glutamine and on low carb diet.

I have hypothyroidism and am on Armour.

Thanks,

Jane
