Hello Lynnette-G.

I started itching early 2010 and December 2010 I was diagnosed with PBC. I had higher than normal LFTs (liver function test) and also another blood test known as GGT that was higher than normal. I had antibodies checks and found to have a high titre (measure) of AMAs and negative for another ANAs.

I cannot say as I only had wrote on the letter from my consultant (I am in the UK) that I was found to have a 'high titre' of anti-mitonchondrial antibodies and the diagnosis along with symptons and bloods was PBC.

AMAs can fluctuate. Only your doctor can really decide this.

Thanks for the reply,

I've had hep C for about 20 years never been on treatment, just kinda pusshed it to the side it was like life was to full to worry about it!! (I know stupid ) now have three grands and want to be around a long time!! So I have been hurting the past month, already know I test high on most of my blood work, so I went to see a Gastroenterologist so I'm getting a ultra sound and a friboscan wendsday and then we will go from there!! Just ready to see what the test results mean. Lol it drives me crazy not knowing

Thanks again

Hi Lynnette-G, did you ever get your antibody of 3.3 explained please? I had an AMA result that I didn't understand either, it was written like yours. I understand when it's given as a 'ratio' (eg 1:1250 ), but not when you just get one number.

Many thanks
