You need to get this checked by your Doctor it could be any number of things.

A few years ago I had a similar thing it felt like I was falling sideways luckily each time it happened I was near to something I could grab hold off so never fell to the ground. After a year it turned out to be my ears and I needed surgery to correct the problem and everything is fine now. but do get it checked out.

As Candy12 suggests it could be an ear problem, perhaps a form of vertigo caused by an inner ear problem. Best to get it checked out.

Do you have an underlying condition? (I presume you do as you are on here!)

Go check it out. The doctor should send you to a neurologist. I had this happening to me six years ago. I would fall to the side with no warning and couldn't stop myself.

Turned out I had a ruptured disc pressing on the spinal cord interfering with my balance.

They fixed it with an op and I am fine now with it but it is vital you see the doctor. They can fix those things easily now, don't be afraid, but first get to see the doc .

As others have suggested it could also be an ear problem or something straightforward.
