Has anyone heard of Isagenix and if so do you think it's good to try if you have PBC?
Isagenix: Has anyone heard of Isagenix and if... - PBC Foundation
Isagenix
Never heard of it sboykin.
What is it for?
If marketed as an health supplement which I think it could be then personally I'd be very cautious in having PBC.
My theory with PBC is even if we cannot change how it progresses (if it does) with diet or exercise or active lifestyle (read about diet and active lifestyle and/or exercise in the latest Bear Facts and it apparently not having any impact on PBC), then the best way forward is to try to keep one healthy so that we do not succumb to other things that we can also do.
I say this because any minor ailments that we might get now or in future, a lot are recommended to have a medicatin presribed temporarily and even on-going so to me that can have impact on how we are with PBC.
I personally would not now dabble with my diet. I've managed to keep off any further medications temporary or otherwise since my first abnormal LFTs back in early 2010 that led to PBC diagnosis Dec 2010.
Like a lot of health supplements, etc it can be wise to check with someone medically trained as it can be ingredients in certain things that might not be a good idea.
I have been using it for over a year now and find it really convenient. I am not following the instructions rigidly but I find having the snack and meal replacement bars in my handbag really handy. I vary the shakes by adding berries, banana or peanut butter.
At the moment I'm not using the shakes as I prefer a warm breakfast in winter (Australia).
My energy levels did seem to improve.
Out of interest RoseM, has it altered your blood readings at all?
Very hard to say.....I know that I feel relatively well whilst using it. I also know that when I'm travelling and not using it I do feel fatigued. But then I am also not having acupuncture whilst away and it definitely has a positive effect on my bloods.
Sorry I can't be more helpful.
