Hello again 246810

Have you had your ECG yet? Do you know if your shaky lightheadedness is more that problem than the PBC. I do get overtired then I cannot sleep but just rest.

I have times where I can hardly stay awake. That usually happens in the afternoons....then I'll have nights where it is really a challenge to get to sleep or stay asleep.

Yes I get that horrible feeling like I’ve suddenly had the plug pulled sometimes too. I get the shakes and get light headed. Sometimes it’s just like I don’t have any energy but stil can’t sleep. Especially if I do something the day before

Hello , thank you for replying, i will be glad when they fit the ECG , on Tuesday , I've been so worried to do too much. I'll let you know .

Thank you again . I hope you are having a good day

I have the fatigue, where it’s like the plug has been pulled from my energy stores but it’s not a sleepy tiredness, but I do have to rest when it happens and Its always in the afternoon which i understand is what happens with pbc.

I also get hypoglycaemic if I eat late , this is where where I shake, feel unsteady and sweaty, I get this if I don’t eat regular meals, I now have four small meals a day which helps a lot. If I do get an attack I have a quick snack, followed by something more substantial.

I went through the ectopic heart beats, heart monitors and visits to cardiology they are really scary if you get them a lot, and I was scared of doing anything. So much so i was given a scan of the heart and all was okay. I think once you get through your tests you will start to feel better and relax a bit and that will help. I was given propranolol to take but I didn’t like the thought of taking a drug to change my heart rate when there was nothing wrong with the heart so I never took it. I was advised that light exercise like walking was the best thing for me. Which I started doing twice a day and I don’t get them anymore unless I have too much caffeine. Hope all goes well for you keep us updated.

Hello Pattie,

I had a diagnosis of fibro as well, but on my last visit rheumatology decided it was not fibro causing my problems. Of fatigue, palpitations, and wide spread pain. Oddly she decided it was all neurological, and gave me amytriptaline to help with sleep as I wake at 3am most mornings with such a dry sore mouth (sicca syndrome) I’am so against pills I never took them either. She gave me a web site to read about it. nuro.org or something similar a google will find it.

The cardiologist I saw was very thourough with all testing, and I hope I explain this right, he explained that the hearts electrical activity fires thousands of time a minute and what I feel as an extra/missed beat is ‘one ‘out of time with the other thousands so has no clinical relevance for me, and are what is called ectopic beats. I do get a run of them like a flutter that’s scary so they gave me propranolol then I tried bisoplorol but I couldn’t take it either, it knocked me out ,he said to lower the dose or take only on the days it felt worse. I have as he put it an optimal perfect blood pressure so I think It lowers it to too much.

I’am a sufferer of panic attacks too, and that makes them worse at times, but most days now I don’t feel them, I think the exercise worked for me but I did check with the consultant first and was told light to moderate exercise walking / swimming. I started with exercise bike and walking above all I lowered my caffeine. ( I drink loads of tea/coffee a day) and I don’t feel them now, where I could feel them in the chest and neck before felt like every other beat they were so bad.

There still there if I take my pulse I can feel about one a minute so doing okay. The pbc seems to to be stable, with a sheerwave scan at the normal/mild range and alp at 170. All other tests normal. Just a rash, when in the sun that bothers me at the moment otherwise doing good and keeping positive, 8 nearly 9 years along the road.

I must recommend the meditation once a day, this helped lower my anxiety about the palpitations I still do it daily in that afternoon slump a lot of us get, gives me something positive to do when I can’t do anything else. Hope some of that long history helps you or others. Take care and if you get worried about the missed beats, keep going back to doctor, I did until I felt reassured.

oh my word u sound like my innerself even to the coffee and anxiety i know there not suposed to be life threatning just wen u get them its a case of trying to control the panic that goes with them oh well hopefully one day it will be sorted im so pleased u are feeling better Amyltriptyline is a fibro tablet as well and works for some people i have nt found anything for my dry mouth sicca i had a lemon spray but was only momentarily but hey ho there a lot worze illness around good luck xxx

Your right about the anxiety they are so scary and one seems to feed the other, that’s why I like the n edit action. I do hope you find something that works for you soon.

I have salivix, pastilles and biotene gel on prescription for dry mouth may be worth a try, I use the gel at night just before going to sleep it helps a bit. Take care and do lots that you enjoy and leave the chores, well that’s my motto.

I have exactly the same and describe it as having the plug pulled as well. A complete loss of energy when I have to sit down. I also get shaky and assumed that was hormonal, however I put a lot of symptoms down to hormones before I had PBC investigations!

I sleep badly at nights but am under enormous stress (not related to PBC) so that could be a factor. In the afternoons I have to rest and will sleep.

It's seems to one of my major symptoms, the absolute tiredness that I can't go through and have to rest.

Good luck with ECG

Yes, light headed and shakes - I sit down with a drink and a small snack and rest till I feel better so perhaps low blood sugars for me. One of these days it will happen when my daughter is with me and I'll get her to test my blood sugars with her test machine (she is diabetic) but it's not a big problem for me otherwise. When I'm 'tired' I just rest, read or just zone out for a while - I try to pace myself with busy and rest days. Hope you feel much better soon.
