Hi everyone does anyone know if pbc is connected to bone cancer and lumps under the armpits x
Shoulder pain and pbc: Hi everyone does... - PBC Foundation
Shoulder pain and pbc
I do not know but it seems that any lump in the arm pits should be further investigated. I would urge you to see your medical practitioner.
I don't know yo be honest I haven't heard of a relation. I have shoulder pains and I'm having ultrasound & steroid injections for an impingement but it could happen to anyone.
Hello sophie666.
Well I don't think that PBC is connected to these but I'm not one of the medical profession. We can have other things that go wrong with our bodies that is nothing to do with PBC at all.
Any lumps that are not what you consider normal should be looked at by a doctor. A doctor will then take appropriate steps. It could just be a fatty lump or something that is nothing at all. It could be an infected gland as I take it we have sweat glands near there.
I think it would be wise to seek advice of a medic.
i am so glad i read this! I have been having terrible pain in my left shoulder and usually when i wake up sore lumpy armpits.Went to see the doctor on Friday she is sending me to some muscle skeletal team which could take ages but didn't really mention the lumpy armpits.
I think the lumps could be drainage as when i move around they go. With so many things happening to me i often worry that i am imagining things so when i read this was happening to someone else while sad for your suffering i thought no i am not going crazy. I will be interested to see how you are and let you know what happens to me. take care Sue xxx
Hello ozzysue.
Hope you get an answer. Just a thought, wouldn't lumps in the armpits be a case for mammogram?
I am 50 and as yet not had the call-up in the UK for a first mammogram that comes any time from being 50 to 53 apparently (found out it depends on the GP surgery, they are in a rotation system for call-ups.
i had a mammogram in the last 6 months, all ok. i think it could be drainage as the lumps seem to go when i get up and move around. thanks for your reply xxxx
I have heard of the lymph nodes in the neck being swollen with advanced liver problem but not the arms pits.
Hi Sophie,
Yes iv had same ...pain in armpit and ache in left hand .As quick as glands under arms come up they go .I always seem to feel tired and a bit run down at same time ..like my body is saying rest .
The consultant rang me at home to talk about it .He said it's very strange but to write how I am down as time goes on so he has a picture of what's going on when he see me next .When he rang me I was feeling better after a mth of not so good so no need to see him .Iv had PBC just over 12 mths and Im on urso and a iron tablet a day because of low iron and White /red cells so maybe all connected .My advice is listen to your body and rest and relax as much as possible .
I'm very lucky to have a good consultant so if I have worries I can talk to him .He adviced to exercise however rest if my body is telling me so .
Everyone is different but what you experience I do also
Good luck and try to take time for yourself

i did have a good consultant but he retired, saw the new guy who said the opposite to what i had already been told.My husband thought he was a cleaner pretending to be a consultant. I have not seen him since a year last november and have lost all confidence in the hospital now. xxxxxx
