I went to court to get my dla back with a court order still in date. Pip came along amd refused on mobility but more care. On speaking to them with regards to court order i was told that it was for dla not pip .

So no mater what youve got they will try and take it away.

Im going back to court again soon to kick some pip arse.

I have Dla for a condition which I had before PBC. I will have to apply for pip now in October when the DLA runs out. I am really worried because I've heard that pip is often refused I don't think I could cope with the anxiety an appeal would cause, any advice?

Go for it.

I went to court for dla and was given it without saying a thing and was yold by the independant foctor there that it shouldnt have been taken away in the first place.

I will be fighting for it again soon.

Fight till the end as theyre told to disallow most cases as lots wont appeal so they save money.

If youve had it before fight for it again. Good luck

I'm not familiary with the benefits system. I was diagnosed with PBC Dec 2010 aged 46 but to date I am pretty much normal (except for the itch that I have at night). I read with interest postings on this topic as you never know for t he future.

I do know that DLA was replaced with PiP for over 16yr olds.

My sister had a brain haemorrhage November 2013 and it was pretty bad. She had 2 brain operations. She spent 10 months in hospital being discharged September last year. She has terrible short-term memory, can't remember most of the time if she has just eaten a meal nor where she is in familiar places. She managed to regain use of her legs though her dexterity in her hands and fingers isn't so good. She developed a condition diabetes insipidus that you can from brain surgery. She cannot go out alone. She had a good working history, never claimed any benefits like her husband who has worked all his adult life so far.

My brother-in-law put in for this new PiP after my sister's discharge from hospital. The hospital doctor did declare her on release to be disabled. Forms were filled out for the PiP September 2014 and only last week did my sister have the medical with whichever board covers the Lancashire area. According to my brother-in-law some of the questions asked to his wife were rather stupid and now he says that they were informed there is about 8 weeks before a decision has been made as to whether she can have PiP.

I do think personally that the claiming of disability has got a bit sketchy from hearing other people mention it odd times and also seeing posting on this site.

I continue to read with interest how you all get along claiming this, sorry to seem like a case of waiting for others to hear/read of their experiences but as I have said, at present I know myself I am not exactly limited enough to consider it for myself.

I would join the benefits and work site, the info help they give is excellent. There is a charge but it is worth the payment for the advise they give on how to fill the forms out properly, if you sign up for the news letter first, the news letters you get normally have an offer to join at a reduced price.

Hello dollydaydreams.

Thank you for the site info. I just looked and realised quite some time ago I found this site for someone else who posted on here.

I will bookmark as it might be useful in my sister's case.
