Hello has anybody had problems with getting PIP. I finally got my claim last year but have been declined this year. Very surprised as my health has not altered, I am still unable to work. Thanks any help would be much appreciated.

Hello Kevviv.

I've no experience of claiming disability benefits but do read certain things with interest just in case in future I find myself in need of claiming PiP.

There is a website here I'll pop link on that you might find helpful.

Hi, I applied for pip and has my face to face assessment Last week. From how this went I doubt very much that I will qualify. I was retired on ill health grounds because I was unable to do my job because of brain fog and fatigue. If I don't get it then I will apply again next year. Maybe you can appeal and go to the CAB for help with this. Good luck.

Thankyou for your reply, I think it's terrible we have to justify ourselves as we didn't ask to be like this, sorry rant over. I have been diagnosed with PBC for 8 years but had it longer. I went on a trial at Newcastle Hospital for a new drug to combat fatigue in PBC, that's how I found out about people claiming PIP.

I have had my face to face interview as well and sent a letter, not quite sure of next step. Good luck and keep positive.

How did the trials go? I applied to go on that but my blood was missing something that was needed for the trial. I hope they found it successful because I really need something to get me out of bed most days.

It's still running I think I was the first one to do it felt really horrible for first month think I had a bad reaction. At hospital in July so will ask if it's finished, But it didn't help me, let's keep our fingers crossed, there is an awful lot of research going on at the mo. It's a terrible illness so frustrating. Take care

Hi. I got pip on daily living allowance. I have pkd & i have finished work on I'll health & got my tier 2 pension & lump sum. I was receiving esa & now they have stopped it & out me on jsa because I failed the medical assessment. Pop is supposed to harder to get than esa? They want to make their minds up. My gp said DWP are in a right mess. He said to me I hope you are going to appeal!

From what i gather you have to quantify how the condition affects you, so you say that you're so tired that someone has to help with the housework/cooking etc, or that you need support because of brain fog with paying bills et. If you can walk 50 yards is how they tend to assess it these days!
