what do you take for minor aches and pains with pbc.

Just would like to ask what everyone takes for just minor aches and pains. My mom was just seen by her liver specialist and he said to take tylenol versus ibuprofen. Just curious what everyone else takes.

I try not to take any medication but if unable to cope with only chamomile or mint tea then I take Nurofen. Definitely not anything with paracetemol

My consultant in UK said take paracetomol never aspirin or ibuprofen but I try to avoid taking anything unless I am desperate

I was told to stay away from acetaminophen completely (no Tylenol). I switched to Motrin. It seems to work.

When I was in great pain with a growth on my spine pushing into the sciatic nerve, how ever much I pleaded I was only allowed to take paracetamol

Hi, My consultant prescribed Paracetamol before and after my transplant. But please don't forget one tablet may not be suitable for another person.

I haven't had any painkillers since pre-2010 when I started itching and had my first abnormal blood test.

It is said that early in PBC most medications are 'well tolerated' but it would be a case of a doctor knowing best here. Paracetamol if you are in the UK is one that is said to be fine in moderation. Ibuprofen is not usually recommended.

Paracetamol is Tylenol, I think. Its just another brand name. I take on tablet of tylenol if I have pain and two if bad. But I rarely take anything now. I used to take lots of pain meds.

i avoid any additional meds if at all possible. For a headache...drink water, aches and pains....use a heat bag and also magnesium cream for aching or sore muscles, also started doing pilates to make my muscles stronger.
