Hi Callye
Thank you for your response. Yes I'm at stage 4. I pottered a long for 2 years with very few a problems of PBC. I've Deteriorated really quickly since September of last year. Sorry for ignorance but what is Rogaine. Thank you
Rogaine is the brand name for minoxidil a topical treatment for hair loss.
Barclay - I was just looking at old posts and wondered how you were doing. Have you had the transplant?
Hi Calogia
Lovely to hear from you.
I had my transplant on 2nd August at Addenbrookes.
I feel amazing well. I was very lucky, this was the 1st call from the hospital.
I had rejection on the 4th day but with the correct meds I recovered fairly quickly.
I only stayed in hospital for 13 days.
How are you?
My hair is back to normal
I have some minor hair loss, and I think it was from malnutrition too, but I"m at an early stage. In your case, yes your hair will grow back, but you can use topical rogaine to grow you some hair. Rogaine isn't a quick fix and may only cover bald spots. Try to wash your hair with shampoo with no sulfates and shampoos that help growth. In your case, it will be hard to keep the hair in place until your transplant. There are really some cute hair pieces you can get too. Some aren't expensive at all. I've actually considered them myself. They might be a better more cost effective option for you until your transplant.
Please day in touch, too, as Callye said.
Last summer, I lost handfuls of hair which could be attributed to stress from my Dx, vitamin malabsorption or a combo of both --- and my Gastro suggested I take Biotin supplements. I didn't seen results right away but after about 8 months, there is new growth. I hope all goes well for you and your transplant.
Hi Barclay
Can you give your medical history with timelines? Its usually common for hair to fall after hair transplant surgery due to shock and other factors, but they grow back. Would be best if you can share timelines with procedures for best analysis.
