Does anyone know what symptoms to look for xxx
I have pbc and for the last few days I have... - PBC Foundation
I have pbc and for the last few days I have had a lot of pain in my right groin I'm worried that I may have dvt as the pain runs down my leg
I have no idea what it's from but I've been getting that as well. I have an appt with my GI dr in a couple weeks so I'll ask him about it while I'm there and get back to you. It's at the end of May. If you hear anything before then could you let me know? Or maybe someone else on here knows what it is?
All the best,
Erica
Hello Sophie666. I have had dvt in my leg about five years ago. Whilst I suggest you make an appointment to see a doctor as clearly something is wrong I would be surprised if it is as you say the pain is in your groin and down you leg. The pain is normally in your calf and is similar to cramp but doesn't go away. It's painful, tender to touch and in my case I had swelling. You don't say why you are thinking its dvt. If you have been on a recent long flight or have been laying in bed for sometimes the risks are obviously higher but probably something simple like you have stretched too much. If dr suspects Dvt you will be given an ultrascan and have both your legs measured so quite a painless procedure. If it's confirmed dvt you will be out on warfarin for a period of time and have regular blood tests to check your inr level. Good luck and again suggest you see a dr as I am no medic, just someone who has had dvt.
Never heard of a connection between PBC and Deep Vein Thrombosis. However, don't worry or be prepared to meet trouble half way! Go to the doctor and explain your concerns.
Thanks for your replies great to have your support I feel much better today in the night things seem much worse I did Google dvt and its not a pbc thing although you have a greater risk of getting it if you have pbc . Ime a worrier and I think I let it get to me maybe its just another ache n pain to add to the muscle thing. I will ask my specialist when I next see him I will keep you all posted I've noticed that I have more symptoms since I started the urso 3 months ago thanks for all your help xxx
Hello sophie666.
Sounds like you need to seek medical advice here. Even if it is something that is temporary (ie a nerve) then at least you have a doctor's opinion.
It has also to be remembered that this is possible it has nothing to do with or connected to PBC. We can get entirely seperate issues to PBC but at the same time I expect it can be more worrying due to the fact medications tend to have to be altered due to having PBC.
I was 50 recently and in the past year I've noticed certain things about myself that are basically minor irritants that vanish before I know it. I know I started with what is known as perimenopause last year and that in itself though seems not very problematic currently I have started having the odd hot flushes which I do not like.
Know it is easy to start worrying more when you have some condition that you know is with you for life but at the same time like someone without there are minor ailments we can all contract and if we don't know the reason as in your case, then they can be a bit more worrying.
I refuse to think about what could happen with PBC in myself. All I know is that at present I am doing quite well and hope it remains so. As I always say, even more so now, life is for living and I try to enjoy it all the more now.
Hi peridot thanks for your reply I think it is a trapped nerve I googled symptoms n was worried about dvt I need to stop googling everything lol. Its a lot better today and has moved out of my groin more to the top of my leg I willmmention it to doc when I see him x
I had saw my pain clinic dr. once and I was telling her I had been having pain in my groin. She sent me, from there to the hospital, to have a Doppler scan. It was Fibro pain. Once I had pain in one of my calves for days, and the same thing another Dr. sent me for a Doppler scan. It was alright. I have varicose veins.
