I just got my blood test results out to see what my levels are but can't see ALP listed as one of the tests! Is it sometimes called by different initials/name?
What is ALP?: I just got my blood test... - PBC Foundation
What is ALP?
Hi Wingding. ALP is Alkaline Phosphatase and is always included as part of LFTs. Do you see the full name there perhaps ?

Thank you! All is clear now. Is AMA another term I might recognise by another name? As you can see I'm pretty clueless about this condition even though I was diagnosed with it about 8 years ago!
Pleasure Wingding! AMA refers to Antimitochondrial Antibodies. The particular blood test for AMA would have been done for you at time of diagnosis and is highly specific for PBC. This test is unlikely to be repeated once you have your diagnosis other than perhaps as part of a screen looking for other antibodies.
Take care.
