Hi sadie, could just be the pbc, there really arnt that many side effects to urso, not that iv seen anyway, that sounds like fatigue that comes with pbc.i havnt found anything to ease that, dxt 4yrs this august, just rest rest and plenty or rest, not easy to do i know, i find even an hr orso of a lie down on bed goes a long way. hi Sadie21 ,l also have been feeling really tired and the last few weeks totally exhausted ,l feel so ill but have been fine until recently.it may be worth your seeing your gp as l have seen mine and now know that l have a thyroid problem may pay you to have a blood test and find out.hope you start feeling better son.best wishes dunford 91
I was interested in your question as I too in a similar position. Just diagnosed (but I know from bloods I was in similar condition 3 years ago, the results just got overlooked) NOW I am on 375 x 3 Urso daily and I feel so tired some days and have very poor concentration / memory (brain fog?) (this leads to frustration at inability to do simple things)
Is it the Urso, PBC developing on, or mind over matter (I am told I should fell this so I feel this) - I am a logical man, I can not believe I am imagining symptoms- I asked my Dr. He said you are imagining the symptoms - this causes me to loose some faith in my Dr. - Something is changing quite dramatically, tired, fatigue, brain Fog, need for toilet after every meal I believe (logically) it must be one of these :
1 something unrelated to PBC
2 PBC developing on
3 side effect of urso & beta blockers for Varicees
4 My mind imagining symptoms I read about. (one symptom is not imagined, my desire to go to toilet after every meal is a new one)
I Must get Dr. to run some Thyroid (and other) tests for tiredness.
Hello PCBnPBC.
Well I think fair to say that if a female and we get a bit dotty at the time it is normally put down to age and the womens' cycle.
I think it is simply a case of modern living to be honest. I myself find some days I just don't seem to be able to concentrate on things but then standing back after and thinking about it (ie I almost left a £5 note at the self-service checkout, something I've never done before, realised afterwards I did get side-tracked when the machine was spitting out the change as I had to ask for a price on something that came up a lot more so the assistant then started talking, in a way it distracted me). I think we do things automatic and sometimes for some reason when we do think (ie have we locked that door) it throws us off balance.
I know I've never been one for forgetting much or losing things but with regards to forgetfulness these days I put it down totally to the fact I itch at night and on a bad night I can manage a couple hours sleep so wake up tired, look perfectly ok on the outside as we tend to do with PBC but find concentration levels lack somewhat as the day progresses.
I know one thing urso is to blame for, popping to the loo during the night, something I rarely did prior to taking them Dec 2010. I'm fine during the day but then I am not itching. Tiredness is part of PBC but can be something else. I'm fortunate with fatigue that I had it back in 2010 prior to diagnose but then it vanished. I get tired now as opposed to fatigue due to lack of sleep some nights. I know I'd rather be tired all the time than itch.
Until you receive your next LFTs you won't know how the urso is doing. I was sceptical as I've never been one for 'popping a pill' but I plodded on with them despite a few initial side-effects (heartburn and bloating were 2) and it is when you see the bettering results each time that it makes one continue taking them.
thanks all Sadie <3
