I am just wondering if anyone has noticed an increase in energy when taking milk thistle? i.e: not needing so much sleep and getting tired so fast?

Increase in Energy?
Can I ask how much you are taking? I just bought some to try.
YEs it's possible, I felt the same when taking it. The only problem is that it gives me withdrawal symptoms when i stop it.
Nope. I noticed no difference. I didn't notice any difference when taking coenzyme q10 either, which was recommended by my hepatologist.
No. I tried experimenting with milk thistle myself last year after the 2nd LFTs that were starting to go the wrong way. This was earlier last yr. When I had May 2012 bloods done again they showed a pretty vast improvement, the best so far at the time. I ceased taking them even tho' I had no side-effects and come Oct 2012 my bloods were going the wrong way again, not significantly so but still in the wrong direction.
So I reastarted Dec 2012 and had my next repeats early Feb., they showed an even better result, the best ever so far so I have continued on taking them ever since. I next have bloods in near future so shall know for definite if they really do make a difference but I think so.
I started to feel no fatigue after a yr of taking urso, months before I started on milk thistle as the experiment so I don't think they have anything to do with it at all I'm afraid.
The itch has persisted for me, night time but I have to say in the last few mths it's subsided even more which for me says that perhaps my blood levels have reached a significant decline towards normal and that is perhaps why the itching is really reducing.
The only sympton that I've read about with regards to milk thistle is that at the start they can cause diarrhoea. For me it was non-existent, no side-effects whatsoever. I only take the one capsule per day and I have just checked and this is what states:- "Each tablet contains 150mg of extract, equivalent to 3,600mg – 4,050mg of Milk Thistle fruits ". I don't take more than the one per day I have to say. I take 2 x 300mgs of urso per day, take one of them with breakfast, the other just prior to evening meal and the milk thistle I take at lunchtime. Works for me.
According to a Reader's Digest book I have on Natural Healthcare, milk thistle is mentioned and it has been reputed to be the safest herbal on the market. Apparently high doses of it are given in hospital A&E's for combating liver damage after the consumption of a poisonous mushroom.
thank you all for answer. I was just wondering because I work in a remote location for a few months out of the year and the only thing I have found that combats the fatigue is a shot of glutathione from my naturapath about every month and a half.
Milk Thistle didn't work for me
