When ESA WRAG has ceased, is it true that after six months of the end date you can reapply for ESA again??

Hi,

If you have now claimed ESA for 1 year it automaically stops as this is now the max length of time you can claim it for as new gouverment rules as of last April and you cant reclaim!!

I will quicky tell you what happened to me.

I was claiming it and it just stopped, even after I had passed there medicals and been declared unfit for work. My husband works over the criteria of 16hrs and earns more than £16K so we were told in no uncertain terms that he should support his sick wife!!!!

I had just had a baby and was lucky my Midwife put me in touch with a welfare support worker, who told me my only options were to either get put into the ESA Support Group, Which is so hard to get in to the hoops you have to got through, or to claim DLA.

So I applied for both got turned down for DLA, Which we have appealed, and still waiting to hear about, Support group but I dont hold out much hope.

These are the only options and If I get turned down for them both, even if decleard unfit to work which my doctor says I am, I also have Fibromiyala there is nothing I can claim... It is total disgusting....

Now I am not 100% what happens if you do not have a partner that works my best advice to you is seek help for the CAB of google welfare support in you area and get help from someone whom knowns how to fill in the forms, it is all based really on how you word things and what your doctor writes in a report..

Sorry for mistakes but have a 10month old trying to steal computer.. ha ha.

Good Luck....:)

Hi Sallie,

thanks for replying to me. I totally sympathise with you its disgusting what is happening to sick people, and genuine sick people who would love to work but can't. I have sever agoraphobia and can't leave the house alone, and struggle even with my partner who works full time so most of the time i'm home alone as my daughter is at college all day. Also severe depresssion and social phobia. I got put into ESA WRAG, even though I can't leave house??? I appealed to go in the Support Group. My ESA finished just before christmas. I finally had my tribunal last week, and it was awful and a joke and a waste of time. I was asked what I did during the day and I said just sat alone watched tv. She said, do you not make a drink or eat during the day??? What the hell has that got to do with my illness. She then said why don't you work from home. I said sometimes my depression is so bad I don't get out of bed. They are not interested.

My parnter works full time and earns more that 16K so I know what you mean, but his wage just covers mortgage, council tax, water, electric etc we don't drink/smoke have holidays etc.

I think it's disgusting that the government have been able to do this to sick people, I've read stories about people killing themselves as they have no choice.

Thanks for your help hope u get somewhere and good luck with your hearing.

Jo xx
